Tomorrow, Tuesday, March 6th at 3 p.m. ET, in
honor of the 20th anniversary of the passage of the Children’s
Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), CARU will participate in The Federal
Trade Commission’s (FTC) Twitter chat with acting FTC Chairman, Maureen K. Ohlhausen.
Ohlhausen will discuss the FTC’s enforcement of COPPA and how they have adapted
the law to ensure it stays in line with constantly evolving technologies and
data collection practices. CARU’s Director, Dona Fraser, will be live-tweeting about the Children’s Advertising Review Unit’s own actions pertaining to
COPPA and its experience as the FTC’s first COPPA-approved Safe Harbor program.
